Apple is the frontrunner to become the first publicly traded company valued at $1 trillion, but Amazon isn’t far behind. Amazon’s valuation briefly jumped above $900 billion this week after it sold more than 100 million products on Prime Day. Apple’s value hovers just under $940 billion.

Boeing has claimed victory over Airbus at the closing of the Farnborough air show. Airbus reported $62 billion in sales from 431 planes, while Boeing will head back to the U.S. with $79 billion from orders involving 528 jetliners. Airbus landed a coveted AirAsia deal for 34 extra A330neo jets but missed out on securing a top-up order for 100 smaller A321neo narrow-body planes. Starbucks will open a cafe in Washington, D.C., staffed by people proficient in American Sign Language. The branch will be located near Gallaudet University, which gears all its programs toward people who are deaf or hard of hearing. The “Signing Store” will be designed with deaf and hard-of-hearing patrons in mind. The coffee giant opened a similar shop in Malaysia in 2016.
