Tronc has cut the New York Daily News editorial team in half, to about 40. Tronc purchased the 99-year-old tabloid, which has won 11 Pulitzer Prizes, last year. CEO Justin Dearborn also announced that there would be layoffs at Tronc’s other publications, which include The Baltimore Sun, Orlando Sentinel and The Chicago Tribune, "today and tomorrow." The company has already laid off staff at the Los Angeles Times and The Chicago Tribune.

Juul has become increasingly popular as an alternative to cigarettes but has faced scrutiny over its nicotine quantity and flashy marketing campaigns.
